Princess Room

This week has been a busy week at our house!!! We converted our theater room into Mckayla's new princess room, made her old room a play room (getting ALL the toys out of the living room!!!), moved some of the theater stuff to the living room, and got new living room furniture! My dad is to thank for making the princess room happen because he painted and fixed our ceilings that had been damaged by water spots and painted the princess room pink. We would be LOST without my dad!!! We love you!!!

A while back I bought this Pottery Barn bedding I saw that was clearanced for when Mckayla is someday in a twin bed, it was just way too adorable to resist. So this has been the inspiration for a princess room!
This is the sham and duvet cover print, and the sheets are all pink with the fairies that are on the print above all over the sheets outlined in white. Anyway, here are some pics of her room so far but don't judge too much because it has a long way to go still! I recovered her letters with a new paper and now I just can't decide on a ribbon color to hang the letters from...any ideas would be appreciated! Sheers got lost on the wall and I think pink might be too much pink on the walls? I don't know. Plus there is SOOOO much more wall space in this room it's going to be awhile before we get enough on them to feel complete so we just kinda threw up what we had!
Here's a close up of the print on the letters...this picture is way washed out though, I promise that is brown with pink dots!
We are thinking about getting a big cute rug too for the middle of the room because there is so much empty floor space. Someday anyway! She obviously needs a curtain rod and valance....
This picture Chris's mom got Mckayla for her birthday. It is a Thomas Kinkade print of Snow White finding the dwarfs cottage. It is GORGEOUS! We hung it first thing!
I'm thinking about getting this wall sticker thing for above the dresser. I may put it on a board or something or I may put it directly on the wall...it can be made in any color and the pink in the background is the "wall" you get just the words and image.

The entry to her room and by the closet door...
So what do you think? ANY suggestions would be appreciated!!! It's a work in progress!!!

Potty

So she got her own potty seat for her birthday and I set it all up Sunday but today was the first time she took notice...and she loved it! Not for USING but for exploring!!! That's okay with me though because she's taking the first steps!!! It was cute though because she was so excited!
Playing around on the step stool......
Not so sure about sitting on there....
HELLLOOOOOO IN THERE!!!!!
YAAAAAAY!!!
Maybe it's not so bad up here....
Then she said "poop" like she needed to poop so we let her sit on there for real (of course nothing happened but it was a fun first try!)
Who knew a potty could be so much fun?! hehehe

Carlie & Ian's Birthday Party

I'm waaaaay late posting this because I honestly forgot about the pics! So anyway, on October 1st, we went to my aunt and uncles house to celebrate Carlie, Ian, and Joe's birthdays. Carlie is sweet 16 now and Ian is 13! I honestly can't believe it because I still feel like it was yesterday that I was playing with them as little ones....one of my favorite Carlie memories (of many) is when she was obsessed with Michael Jordan and the movie Space Jam! She even had a picture of him hung on the wall by her bed! She was pretty little at this point too so it was too funny!!! Hehehe! Anyway, they are all grown up now and we were so glad to celebrate their birthday's with them!
Silly Summer :)
Isn't she gorgeous?!

Stillwater

This past Tuesday we went with Matt, Wendi, and Emily to Stillwater. We have been talking about wanting to go for a long time and we finally just packed up and went! And it was Emily's birthday! Chris and I were talking about it and I don't think we have been up there in 3 years! It was a beautiful day and it was nice to see everything again...especially Eskimos Joes and those awesome cheese fries!!!

After we got our little family pic in front of Joes, Emily decided she wanted to sneak in for one!
Then we walked over to Chris's University Spirit to buy some new OSU gear and the we took a stroll over to campus.
The girls loved the fountain in front of the library...especially because there were tons of little rubber duckies in there!
Then we walked to Theta pond and the girls got to check out some REAL ducks!
This little pose Emily was doing just cracked me up!
Emily showing us that she is 3!
The girls hitched a ride on the daddies!
We were all a little hot after all the walking so we took a break at Marble Slab for some ice cream. Mckayla LOVES her a good chocolate shake!
And since it was her birthday Emily got an ice cream cone dipped with sprinkles! It looked pretty tasty!
It was a great trip and we finally restocked on some new OSU gear for all of us too! We will have to make another trip soon!

Emily's Birthday

Sorry, I can't stay Wordless on this Wednesday! Too much posting to catch up on! Last Saturday was Emily's 3rd birthday party and it was a Princess party! Emily looked SOOOO cute in her Snow White costume and got pretty much all Snow White and princess toys! It was tons of fun! Here's the pretty birthday girl:
She would get excited to open each present, then want to open it right then and kept having to be reminded that there were more presents! She loved it all!
Mckayla really liked the balloons :)
She even got some play make up!

This was her best gift, it's a doll care center where you can bathe, feed, and rock the baby doll to sleep! It was adorable and might have to make an appearance on Mckayla's Christmas wish list ;)
Mckayla putting the baby doll in the high chair to feed her:
Emily trying out her new lip gloss:
Oh yeah..it was Matt's birthday party too (even though he was greatly outnumbered by princesses!)
Cake time!
After cake and ice cream all the kids went outside and ran around chasing bubbles from this bubble machine. Mckayla went crazy over all the bubbles!
It was a GREAT day and Happy Birthday yesterday to Emily and Happy Birthday today to Matt! The big 3-0!
