A day full of fun

We started off yesterday rolling ALLLL over the living room; somehow she made it under the coffee table from starting on the quilt. She was proud of herself!

You can see here where she was on the quilt to where she ended up under the table

Then we tried sweet peas for the first time at lunch...she did decent at first but then things got messy!!!

Then later we did some hardcore jumping

And then we had a little play time on the floor and Mckayla got pretty vocal!!

It was a fun day!!!

Getting into everything

We put Mckayla on the floor on her quilt to play but she doesn't stay on the quilt very long anymore. She rolls EVERYWHERE and gets into some interesting spots! She loves to kick everything and of course eat everthing she can reach. Sometimes we don't even know how she gets into some of the spots that she does. Here she made it to her chair and was chewing on the straps.

We still don't know how she got behind her frog toy here, but she sure was proud of herself!!

Eating Mr. Froggie

Yummy!

You can really see in this video how she wants to crawl! She really sticks her booty in the air and tries to push forward! It probably won't be long before she figures it out! Here she eventually just grabbed her frog toy and pulled it to herself...cheater!

First trip to Duncan

We took Mckayla on her first trip to Duncan, which was also her first overnight trip anywhere! We stayed for one night and she did so great! She had a lot of fun with her Grandma and Grandpa Brack!

Here she is playing on the floor

Who needs toys when you got these little piggies to knaw on?!

Checking out the sheep with Grandma

Her Grandma and Grandpa got her the Rainforest playard for her to sleep in and she LOVED it, especially since she has tons of the Rainforest stuff at home too! She would stare at the mobile and look at and touch all the animals on the mattress when she was on her tummy. We were worried about her sleeping away from home for the first time, but she slept almost all night in this bed and she even rolled over in the middle of the night and was sleeping on her tummy for the first time ever. It was a big relief, she did so great!!!

YAY!!!

Crazy hat

Just being silly today

6 month check-up

Mckayla had her 6 month well-baby check-up today, which meant more shots :( She's right on track developmentally with her rolling, sitting up, grasping, etc. She doesn't have any teeth making an appearance yet, but probably anytime! Now we need to be more consistent with feeding her solid foods and work on her sleeping habits, which are already improving dramatically. Her weight now is 15 pounds 14 ounces, which is right on 50th percentile. Her length is 25 1/2 inches, which is right barely below the 50th percentile. So she's right on track where she should be!! We'll keep you updated on everthing new she does!

Jumperoo!

We borrowed Matt and Wendi's Rainforest jumperoo and we loooove it! Mckayla fits in it better than the exersaucer and she can jump around like crazy now! The seat spins around too so she can play with all the toys so she's constantly bouncing up and down and spinning in circles, it's pretty funny! (Sorry for the blurry video, daddy is definetely an amateur videographer, but that's okay we love the video just the same!)

And here she is enjoying a good book the other day

First vegetable

Well we tried our first vegetable on Wednesday...green beans!!! Unfortunately it was not well received...

In the beginning she was so excited and she was kicking her feet so fast...then after a bite or two she realized this was not so much fun!

New trick

Mckayla was doing something weird with her mouth the other day and I thought she had something in her mouth because it looked like she was eating something. Upon closer inspection it turns out she just discovered that her tongue could be a toy too! She was rolling her tongue all around in her mouth! So silly...

Here's a crazy hair picture after her bath the other day. It's so long on the top and rubbing off on the sides so she looks like a mad scientist sometimes!

Artwork added

I finally got the 2 framed artwork prints I had my eye on yesterday. Had to add a "Star Wars" and "Indiana Jones" print. These are really pretty neat. They are not normal posters but rather framed textured/painting on wood. They look alot fancier in person than normal movie posters. I like that they don't have glass on the frame so there is no glare bouncing off the pictures and since they are wood and not paper there are no creases either. I also put up my framed filmcell sets that I have. On another theater note, I purchased my 2 side surround and 2 back surround in-ceiling speakers yesterday and now am waiting for them to arrive. I'll need to add 3 more for my front left/center/right speakers though before putting them up to complete the 7.1 setup.

I love my quilt!

Mckayla recently discovered that her quilt had peek-a-boo flaps that she could play with! We loooove this beautiful quilt that her Great Grandma McKay made for her, we play on it every single day!

Theater Renovations are under way....Finally

This is Chris........and this post is probably not gonna apply to or interest the female gender.......

I know Brian can relate. :)

After living here for a year now (seems unreal), I am FINALLY making some progress on my home theater room. I got new curtains and a new rug last week. Soon I will be painting the room a blue scheme and applying a brown/tan fabric to the ceiling to reduce light glare from the screen and projector. I was gonna paint the ceiling too but after consulting Jessi's Dad who is a homebuilder it turns out the popcorn texture ceiling would be a big pain in the a** to paint. I found out through online research at one of Jessi's favorite forums(hahaha) that you can buy cheap fabric material to cut and place over the popcorn ceiling flush. I'm searching for new speakers as well, which is turning out to be quite the chore. I was gonna go with in-wall speakers but now it looks like I'm gonna be using in-ceilings. Should make for a nice clean look to the room with no visible speakers or cables. I'm also trying to acquire a few movie posters for the walls that I have my eye on but no luck yet. So far only one visitor has seen the added rug and curtains. We had one of our friends, Ashley who works with Jessi at the hospital, over for a movie night last week and she loved the new look. Here are some pics of the rug and curtains. Almost forgot, I also added awhile back a Theatre sign on the wall before you walk into the room, here is a pic of it as well.

Sitting

Mckayla has really liked sitting up lately when we hold her, but last night she really started sitting on her own! She sat like this, supporting herself with her arms, for at least a few minutes!

I love this look of surprise!

Here she is sitting and reaching for her toy at the time

Cheeeese!

Mckayla gave me this big cheesy grin last night when she was playing. She's practicing for her next photo shoot with Aunt Lacey!!
