Maternity & Mckayla's 3 yr. pictures

It has taken me forever to get these posted but here they are, finally! Lacey did a photo shoot for us a few weeks ago to get some maternity shots of me, family pics, and some of just Mckayla for her 3 year pics. As always she did a WONDERFUL job and we are so so so grateful to her for her time and skill!!! Thanks a million!

Olivia's room

Well her room is finally starting to come together!!! We've found a few things for the walls but there is still more that we need to get. Chris painted the room a couple weeks ago and I got all her clothes washed so now it's just getting slowly organized and ready for Olivia's arrival!

I made this memory board!!! Thanks to Lacey's suggestion, I bought a memory board at Kohl's and just recovered it with this Olivia fabric I bought online, stapled it to the back and then stapled on white ribbon and hot glued the buttons! Yay for my rare appearance of craftiness!!
I just got this butterfly/flowers mobile thing at Babies R Us and Chris isn't too sure about it yet but I think it will look better when we get stuff up on the blank walls around it.

So that's where we are at! And I'm exhausted so that's where it stands until my next burst of inspiration!

Santa!!!

We took Mckayla to see Santa on Monday!! Seems early? Well we got a headstart on Christmas around here and Mckayla was so beyond excited to see him! Plus we wanted to make sure and do all this fun stuff with Mckayla before Miss Olivia decides to make her appearance!!! So we got there and unlike last year where she wanted us with her, she ran right up to him, he propped her up on his lap and they proceeded to have a whole conversation (which I so wish I could have been able to hear!)!!! She was so cute, she had her hands clenched together under her chin and we could tell she was having so much fun chatting with Santa! Then she turned to the camera and smiled like a pro! We figured that part wouldn't be a problem since she got so much practice in Disney World! Afterwards she was so happy that he gave her a little coloring book and she told us she asked him for a doll house! She's been a good girl so I bet she gets her wish! ;)

Mckayla and daddy have been having lots of fun together lately playing Mario on the Wii...so much so Mckayla asks daily when they get to play Mario! She's definitely a daddy's girl!!

Potty Training - Day 1

Well, here was the plan for the day: lots of salty snacks (to make her thirsty), lots of drinks (to make her need to pee), big girl panties, the potty, and a day spent on the kitchen floor trying to keep the panties dry! So I laid out a towel bought peanuts, pretzels, sunflower kernels, and M&M's at her request then had an icy drink, apple juice, her princess water, and MY water jug that she loves to drink out of. We sat there and she ate snacks for like an hour and a half to two hours but she didn't drink a ton so she never needed to go potty. She seemed to be getting bored so she asked if she could color so I told her that she could run to her room really quickly and grab her crayons and coloring books. Well in that 30 seconds she was gone she had an "accident" on her closet floor. FUN. So we cleaned her up and put on dry panties and headed back to the kitchen.
This time around she decided she would just hang out on the potty and color, even though I encouraged her to only sit on the potty when she needed to go :)
A bit later she was tired of all the sitting around and she said she wanted a diaper. I didn't want to burn her out so we diapered her up, put on her cozy jammies, and then she got some quality daddy time playing Mario on the Wii! She LOVES Mario!
To be continued tomorrow...... :)

Singing cards

Mckayla LOVES the cards at Hallmark that you open and they play a song and she got a few for her birthday and we got her a Halloween one so she has been singing with them nonstop! She's learned most all of the words except the Tinkerbell one is a bit more complicated :)
