Growing girl

Okay here's her monthly growth pictures with her Cabbage Patch doll Mckayla!

For Abbey

This picture cracks me up because Mckayla has a cute surprised look on her face. We said this is for her cousin Abbey because she is wearing her duck jammies and we know how Abbey loves ducks!

Christmas time!

We've spent almost the past week decorating up our house inside and out for Christmas. It is such a mess but we LOVE Christmas time! Here's a few pics of some of our decorations. There's a lot more but that would be too many pics!


Here's Mckayla's new stocking that her Grandma Terri and Aunt Lacey made for her. Isn't it absolutely gorgeous and adorable!?! They did an AWESOME job on it, we love love love it!

A baby divided

Today was the big bedlam game and as you can see Mckayla got all geared up! Unfortunately there is a little debate in our household about who we are going for so Mckayla has to have some of both to make it "fair"

This cute little OSU onesie was her cousin Summer's and she gave it to us just in time for the game! I was excited because it is actually small enough for her to fit into, unlike all of her other OSU or OU outfits.

The game wasn't too exciting for her so she decided to just go right on to sleep through it all!

First Bottle!

Unfortunately I'm going to have to go back to work eventually so Mckayla is going to have to start eating from a bottle. I've been pumping and freezing milk for a couple weeks now to build up a stock but I've been wanting to start attempting a bottle every once in awhile so she will get used to it for when I'm not home. Tonight was the first attempt and she did so AWESOME! She didn't fight it or cry at all! It took her a second to get going on it, just like she does with her pacifier, but she went right to sucking away and gobbled up the whole thing! Then daddy changed her and she ate a little more! Daddy loved getting to feed her (and she wore her I Love Daddy bib for the occasion) and we were both soooo excited that she did so well on the first try, hopefully she keeps doing that well. I was the teeniest bit sad too though that she didn't cry for her mama instead of that imposter bottle, but it's all for the greater good!

Rather than make separate posts for each of these different pics/events, I just grouped them all here. This first one was from Monday, and I call it her Austin Powers look...Yeah Baby! (Only makes sense if you've seen the movie obviously :)

Tuesday we met Chris's parents for dinner and then we went to Wal-Mart and they got Mckayla this SUPER cute 4 ft. pink pre-lit Christmas tree. I LOVE IT! I made it my penguin tree since my collection of penguin ornaments is getting so big!

Mommy's Little Sweetie!

Her first mail! We got this in the mail Wednesday and thought it was neat to see her name on it. It's so official! Especially since it was her social security card, she really is official! Haha!

Happy 1 month birthday!

I can't believe my baby girl is already a month old! This month has FLOWN by, but it also seems like forever ago that I was pregnant, however that makes sense. This month has been so unbelievably amazing, I can't even begin to describe how wonderful she is and how much better our lives are with her here. She is such a good baby and I could just stare at her beautiful little face forever. Being a mommy, even though it is strange to think that we are parents now, is the most fulfilling and amazingly emotional thing. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this sweet little angel! I've got to stop the mushiness now before I start crying! Happy 1 month Birthday Mckayla!

Here she was enjoying this vibrating chair at Grandma and Papa McKay's house last night when we went to visit for Grandma's birthday. I almost caught a smile!

#1 Baby

I took this picture of Mckayla and just cracked up because it kinda looks like she is holding up a 1 with her finger and I immediately thought of Chris. If you don't know this about him, as a kid (and still now too) he would always run around or jump in on home videos and hold up #1 and say "I'm number one!" So he always jokes about being number one or the number one son. So here I guess Mckayla is making it known like her daddy did that she is number one!!! We already knew that though :)

This one is just funny because she looks like I just scared the bejeebers (I just made that word up) out of her!

First booboo

Last night Mckayla got her first real booboo and it just broke my heart! I really would have felt awful if I caused it, but sadly she did it to herself! I was eating and I saw her with her hand in her face, like always, and she was pulling at her eyelid. By the time I could grab my napkin to wipe my hands off to stop her, she had clawed a little chunk of skin off her cheek!! I freaked because it started bleeding and she screamed when it happened. She didn't cry but a minute but I was so sad because I know it hurt her! It really was minor but now she has a wound under her left eye. I've cut her nails twice but obviously not good enough, she just has to have those cute little hands in her face all the time!

(Sorry the picture is so awful, I tried MANY times to get a clear picture and every single one was blurry. You get the idea though. Chris thought I was silly for taking a picture of it anyway!)

Daddy day!

Today Mckayla and I went to visit daddy at work and go to lunch with him. He had been anxious to show her off to all his work friends so after an hour and a half of preparation we were out the door and on our way downtown! She slept almost the whole time, except when we first got there she had her eyes open and was quietly looking around at everyone for about 5-10 minutes before falling back asleep. It was perfect! These past few weeks I haven't left the house hardly at all, especially by myself with her, so I forgot how nice it was to be outside! We'll have to go meet daddy for lunch more often!

I love my binky!

I keep getting in trouble for not posting pictures of her so I just snapped a couple before she fell asleep next to me on the couch. She is a little higher maintenance now so I haven't had any opportunities to get new shots of her. She was going to town on her binky here so I had to be fast to get one when it fell out before she got frantic. Notice that cute little hand made its way to her mouth when the pacifier wasn't there for 2 seconds!

Lil Miss October

I think by now most people have the birth announcements I sent out so I can finally post the pics from the photo shoot of her in her little costume! This is what she wore for halloween too, but nobody got to see her in it because she spit up ALL over it and had to change before anyone came by! That's okay though it was fun to make it a surprise with the birth announcements anyway!

My little peanut

My mom bought me this super cute sling called a Peanut Shell when I was still pregnant because I was really hoping it would come in handy to free up my hands. Well today was the first attempt and I didn't even think of it until around 5:00 this afternoon after she has been super clingy all day! She was fussy this morning and when I got her to sleep she would wake up every single time I put her down and would go right back to sleep the second I picked her up so I ended up holding her for 2 1/2 hours while she napped today (not that I minded, it was good cuddling and I got a little snooze in too!) but I couldn't do anything hardly, especially when I needed to go the bathroom I had to set her down and run before she really got too pissed! She let me put her down for 1 hour later on but I only had time to shower and pick up some stuff around the house before she got mad again. I finally remembered the sling and sure enough, she went right to sleep in it and I got to finish doing my hair!!! YAY! This thing is awesome and it was easy to get her in it and I really don't worry at all about her falling or anything. She's snug as a bug! I'm definetely going to use this more! Thanks mom!!

Mckayla Balboa

Ready to rumble!!! She always has her arms up like this and she stretches so much that it really looks like she is throwing punches! She has nailed us in the face many times if we try to sneak in and kiss her while she is stretching!

Rockin' out

Chris was bouncing Mckayla on the couch and it was so funny because (like always) she had one hand sticking straight up and it looked so funny the way it was bouncing too. It was ironic too that right when I started filming a commercial came on tv that has a song that Chris likes so he started bouncing her to the beat (and adding a little daddy flavor to the song too!)

Bright Eyes

Aunt Lacey and cousin Abbey came by for a visit yesterday and Mckayla was such a good girl! Lacey got to get in a lot of cuddle time and Mckayla was happily alert for a long time too. I love it when she is like this because she just intently studies you when you hold her. I caught this picture of her when Lacey had her sitting up to burp her. She was so bright-eyed and content!
