This girl loooooves her stuffed animals! Most nights she requests: "memo, car, monkey, care bear, and mankie" when I rock her before bed. She usually just wants one or two of them but this night she wanted it ALL!!!

But Care Bear is her favorite! :)

Sweet songs

I don't have any pictures to show this sweet moment Mckayla and I had tonight, but I will describe it to you the best I can. Mckayla LOVES her ABC's and spells out any words she sees, whether it is on our shirts, the boxes of food, or of course in her books. She amazes me daily with how much she is learning and how quickly. She also loves the song Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star; but what kid doesn't :) Another song she loves is one she has heard since the first days of her life; You are my Sunshine. I only know a small bit of it, but I have sung it over and over to her countless numbers of time in her lifetime. I have heard her "sing" her ABC's and Twinkle, Twinkle, but tonight was the first one-on-one quiet bedtime singing we had together. First of all let me start out by saying she skipped a nap today and it was WAY too late for her to be awake so she was throwing some monsterous fits if any tiny thing didn't go her way. I was trying to rock her and calm her down with just the nightlight on in the room for bedtime but she was really wailing. I distracted her with a Care Bear book but since it was too dark to read, I convinced her the Care Bears had to go nite-nite and that we could sing songs together. So she sat facing me in my lap and we proceeded to sing our favorite songs together. I didn't realize she knew You are my Sunshine so well but she knew chimed in with a few of the words and at just the right moments...

This may not seem like much to anyone else but this was such a sweet moment for us to be cuddling and really singing songs TOGETHER. I wanted to cry it was so sweet! After a few times of singing all her favorite songs, she layed down on me and fell asleep to me telling her the story of the 3 little pigs :)

Happy Birthday Dad!!!

So I know I'm a couple days behind on posting but better late than never!!! Sunday was my dad's birthday so we went to their house and Lacey and Madison met us there too. We celebrated with pizza (dad's FAVORITE meal...haha) and a couple presents. I had to be sneaky to get cuddles in with Madison so I just snuck up behind her and plopped her in my lap without letting her even see my face and making sure I was inches from Lacey (the only person she cares about in life right now!!!) So I got some pudge snuggles and Lacey got her to smile for this super cute picture of us!! I love it!

My dad got a whole OSU cooking setup, with an OSU apron, oven mitts, and an OSU grill top thing that "brands" in either pistol Pete or the OSU logo onto your meat. We'll have some fun burgers now for football season!!!

5 year anniversary

Today is our 5 year anniversary! We have come so far in 5 years and it really does just get better and better as we go along. I can't wait for what the future holds (besides my baby getting big too fast)!!!

Brian & Abbey's Birthday!!!

This was such a busy but fun weekend for us, Friday was Brian and Abbey's birthday so we started off by celebrating at my parents house for Brian's 30th Transformers themed birthday party! The house was decked out in Transformers party gear and Lacey even got Brian a Transformers shirt to wear. Abbey had had a frog themed party with her friends earlier in the day.

On Saturday, Mimi and Papa watched Mckayla for Chris and I while we went to a movie. They took some cute pictures of their fun!

The best was Mckayla playing in the balloons, they said it was hilarious and she had SO much fun! In fact we have a couple of those balloons at our house now and she is still obsessed with them!

And then on Sunday we met up with Matt, Wendi, and Emily so the girls could play. Mckayla had been asking to see "Emmy" all day! They are too cute together! It was a great weekend but we were pooped last night and Mckayla slept until 11:30 today if you can believe it!!!
