Driving Miss Mckayla

Mckayla has such a blast getting pushed around on this little ride-on toy that Mimi and Papa got her. We have to prop her feet up on the front like that because she doesn't know to lift them when it's moving and her feet end up dragging! We've got to teach her to do it herself though because it's backbreaking to bend over that low and push her around as much as she likes!!!

Sweet Little Ruffle Booty

She LOVES to clear out the bottom 2 drawers here where her bibs, spoons, and plastic bowls are. The kitchen usually ends up being a minefield most of the day, but with such a sweet grin like that she can tear it up as much as she wants!

hmm...spoon

Here's a spoon mama!

I'm coming for the camera!!!

New camera

Here's my new exciting new toy! It's a Canon Digital SLR Rebel XT camera! I've been sick of how crappy the quality of my little point-and-shoot camera pictures are so after much research and debate, birthday money, and help from the family photogs (http://www.mckayportraits.com/) I finally just did it. I got the camera in the mail today and since I am VERY much an amateur with it, I set it on fully automatic and took a few quick pics. I plan to read up and maybe learn from the masters (see link above) and develop my skills with it. Not to start-my-own-business caliber, but be able to take advantage of what a camera like this can do. At this point I'm just excited to get better pictures of Mckayla!!!

Here's a few of my favs from today:

If you can't immediately tell the difference in picture quality on here with these little pictures, click the first pic above to make it super big and look at it, then click on her in her OSU outfit in the post below and look at it super big and you can DEFINETELY tell the difference. I was always so disappointed when I'd print a picture and it would look okay on the computer but sooo grainy when printed...not anymore!!!

Goooo Cowboys!

OSU has got the cutest little new cheerleader! Mckayla got this adorable little cheerleader outfit from my friend Erin at my baby shower and this is the first time we've tried it on...and good thing because her little belly is making it too tight! I'm sad she won't fit it throughout football season! We've got other outfits though and there's always the option of buying a new one :) I just looooove it! Daddy wasn't as excited though - hehehe! Can't deny the cuteness!

She's everywhere!!

Here's some random pics of Mckayla in action:

wishing to be swimming...

climbing in her car seat

she loves to tear apart the bib drawer! She's mastered the backward toss with many items now, she can clean out a toy basket in seconds or launch her pacifier from her crib with amazing distance! Future softball player maybe?!

Trip to Duncan

We just got back this evening from a quick trip to Duncan. Mckayla's Uncle Chad is in town for a couple weeks and she got to meet him for the first time! Mckayla also got to meet her Great-Grandparents (Chris's grandparents on his dads side) and 2 great Uncle's. Here she is with her Great-Grandparents, Albert and Inez Brack:

She just loved pulling up on the table and smacking the top with her tiny little hand. She's so proud of herself!

She LOVED the dogs; Samson was pretty indifferent (he's yawning here):

Hangin out with Uncle Chad

I love how she looks so relaxed in this next one with her elbow resting on his chest!
Mckayla and her Grandma

It was a fun trip! Mckayla loved swimming in their pool too and getting all the cuddles and spoiling from her Grandma and Grandpa!

Happy 2nd Birthday Abbey! (and 29th for Brian!)

Today we went to Abbey and Brian's birthday party! Their birthdays are both on August 7th but today was the big party for them (well mostly for Abbey but Brian got a couple presents and a cookie cake too!). Abbey looked absolutely ADORABLE dressed up as Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street! There were a lot of kids there and it was fun to see them all playing all over the place. Mckayla was so good too, she pretty much stayed out of the middle of the madness and just sat next to it all and played with cards, envelopes or little bits of paper that came flying her direction, just as happy as can be! I took a ton of pictures but here are a few of my favorites from the day....
Mckayla in Abbey's chair:
Abbey left her koosh ball at our house awhile back so we returned it and OH MY GOODNESS that girl was excited to see that koosh ball again!!! It was so cute!

Abby Cadabby!
Mckayla checking out Abbey's gifts:
2 of her favorite gifts, a rubber frog and a rubber whale!!!
Lacey was VERY excited when she got this picture of the swing set my parents got for Abbey....much assembly required until it's like the picture though!

Mckayla in her spot playing with cards

Lacey's parents got Abbey this super cute playhouse; Chris loved it too :)

The birthday girl and boy!

It was a fun day!!
P.S. KEEP GOING DOWN TO THE NEXT POST TO SEE A NEW VIDEO OF MCKAYLA!!!
