Mommy's birthday

The best birthday present I could ever ask for!

Also on my birthday Mckayla had her 9 month check-up (but no shots thankfully) and she's just right on track developmentally! She weighs 18 pounds now, which is between the 25th and 50th percentile, and is 28 inches tall, which is between the 50th and 75th percentile. The nurse practitioner said this is normal for their weight to start declining because she is so active now! She has no idea how active Miss Mckayla bear is! Crawling, pulling up, some cruising, and lots of playing!!! She also said she saw some red spots on her gums so maybe she'll be getting some chompers soon, but in my opinion they can take all the time they need! We've got enough fussiness and fits that we can handle!

On a side note my birthday was a bit saddened by the passing of our pal Slimer. R.I.P. Slimer the salamander!

Swimming!

We put Mckayla in this pool my dad gave us for the first time a few evenings ago and she just loved it! She sat there and splashed water everywhere for a long time, until we were running out of daylight! She's a little fish!

Early birthday present

I know I know her birthday isn't for 3 months but she doesn't know any different! She's been pulling up on everything now, which is usually the couch and side tables, and in turn trying to get to things she can't have, leading to us having to pull her away and her throwing a fit. So we got her this learning table that has tons of little toys on it and lights up and plays music, tells colors, letters and more. It's really neat and it gives her something at her level she can pull up on and play with!



I don't know what she was doing here but she was getting a little sleepy about this time

Swinging

After Mckayla loved the swing so much at the lake, we knew we had to get one for home. Her Grandma and Grandpa got her this one and we hooked it up on the porch and she loves it!!! She cries when we take her out!

plus those straps are so tasty too :) hehe

Big girl

STANDING in her crib now...we find her like this in this spot after every nap now, reaching for the door. Needless to say we lowered her mattress!

Crawling!

Although she's been army crawling on her belly for quite awhile now, she officially started crawling the right way on July 4! Here's a little sample"

Her new thing now is to pull up on the basket I keep her diapers in and pull all of them out, making a diaper disaster area!

4th of July cutie pie

She has so many USA outfits she's been wearing them all week! And this week she has been doing so many new things so here's some pics of all her silliness:

She LOVES this pillow! she rolls all over it, buries her face in it, and eats the fringe. Such a simple toy!


And here's the biggest new things she's been doing: She says "mama" (even when daddy tells her to say dada!) and she growls at us! It's soooo funny! She's also been army crawling on her belly for awhile now, and is very fast and good at it too, but yesterday the 4th, she crawled the right way for the first time!!! Every time I try to get video she lunges for the camera, I'm going to have to be sneaky about it I guess :)

1st real booboo

We were so proud that Mckayla learned to pull herself up to her knees at the table...


but seconds after this picture was taken her hands slipped and she fell forward hitting her cheek on the edge of the glass first, leaving a bruise, then her mouth hit the bar under the glass and it split her lip open on the inside where her lip meets her gums. It was soooooo sad ands she was bleeding from her mouth and nose. Mommy cried a little too and I haven't put her down yet, except for a little nap. Poor baby girl!
