Hey! I was still thinking! Slimer is fitting, but a little cliche. I was thinking more along the lines of Geiko, Quigly, or something funky like that.
It would be funny if you just named him something like Bob or Dan.
Or how about Fluffy? J/K :)
Or Pickles? He kind of looks like a pickle!
Or, I know, Flander, the Salamander!
Or, you could give him a dinosaur name and then shorten it. There are over 300 of them at this site! www.dinodictionary.com I was just thinking this because the first thing you said was that he was a "baby dinosaur".
What about "Baby-dino"...Just an idea,...I think your pet salamander is awesome, and very "unique"...I can see what happens, when a day is spent at the zoo!
Chris and I have been married since 2004 and everything continues to get better and better for us! In 2007, we bought our first house, I finished nursing school and became an RN, and most importantly we had our first baby; a beautiful little girl named Mckayla on October 19, 2007 and our newest addition, Olivia, born on December 22, 2010!!! There are no words to describe how amazing our princesses are and how blessed we are to have them in our lives!

I found a dinosaur called a "Zephyrosaurus". You could call him Zephyr! That would be a way cool name!
